| Financial Support An Invitation to Support FOCUS Ministry
We bring you warm greetings from the Fellowship of Christian Unions (FOCUS-Kenya) in Christ’s name. It is our hope and prayer that you are well in God’s care. We wish to bring to you ministry updates and extend an invitation for support and continued partnership with FOCUS.
FOCUS ministry among students continues to grow and flourish and we thank God that we have more than 25,000 Christian students registered as members in the CUs in our institutions of higher learning who are zealous to love and serve God. The growth in student numbers has also meant more demand on resources. We are exited to let you know that in the last AGM in April 2010, we affiliated six (6) new Christian Unions, bringing the number of affiliated institutions to 40, though working with 20 others who are not, but are seeking for affiliation. We are indeed grateful to you and the many other associates who have taken it as their responsibility to support the work in diverse way.
As one of our valued partners, we wish to request that you kindly consider supporting the ministry this year. The information outlined below may be helpful in facilitating you decide on your commitment:
REACHING STUDENTS CHANGING NATIONS
It costs FOCUS-Kenya KSH. 1,500 (US $20) PER YEAR to facilitate ONE CHIRSTIAN STUDENT in our institutions of higher learning to be nurtured and GROUNDED IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST through involvement in weekly Bible studies, training on Discipleship, Evangelism, Missions, Leadership Development and Social Concerns. The Christian student population in these institutions has hit a high of 25,000, but there are still over 130,000 students who need to be reached for God. The FOCUS Kenya philosophy of ministry is "Students Reaching Students". This model focuses on discipling and capacity building Christian students with an aim that once this is done effectively, the students will be on the pathway of being positive change agents for godly transformation among their colleagues, families and later in the world of work and wider society. Indeed, this is not just an aim, but a fact that has been proven over the years. We have many FOCUS associates (graduates) placed in all sectors of our societies in Kenya and abroad, and who have made major positive contributions in their areas of operation. We give thanks to God for this. By partnering with FOCUS to facilitate this growth and tap from the energies of the youthful group in our institutions, you are in essence taking up your God-given responsibility to change nations for Christ.
Our annual budget for year 2010 is Kshs. 24,100,000. In view of this, we are requesting that you commit to support the ministry this year through one or more of the avenues outlined below. By so doing you will be making a major contribution in this noble task of extending the Kingdom of God to and through the student communities of this great nation to God’s wider world. We need your partnership. May God continue to bless and grant you favor in all your endeavors.

- By committing yourself, you will greatly assist us in planning, as we trust God for continued providence.
2. Support the STEM programme by picking one of the STEM staff and financially supporting them through the year (see list of STEM staff under Staff).
In addition to 1 or 2 above;
3. Be available for direct involvement with Student ministry through trainings, speaking engagements, mentorship etc.
4. Be available to offer professional services to Students or FOCUS Secretariat.
5. Continue praying for the Ministry. Prayer is the backbone of this ministry as we seek to continuously hear the mind of God, seek his direction and strengthening as we work towards godly transformation.
