My name is Daniel Njumbi, a STEM staff in Voi, working with Taita Taveta University CU, KMTC Voi, and Coast Institute of Technology.
As I reminisce about how things have turned out in the past two years, I can only turn to God in thanksgiving. Being in FOCUS has by far exceeded my expectations. As I plugged into student ministry, I expected to provide answers to questions people have through sit-downs and sermons. While I have attempted to do this to the best of my ability, I have also been helped answer questions I never knew I had. This has also exposed weaknesses and strengths that were otherwise hidden.
Over time, the core values of FOCUS have continued to be inculcated in me; faithfulness to the Holy Scriptures, excellence, integrity, student-centeredness, and teamwork. Only the test of time will prove them to be true, but by these, I purpose to abide. Since I joined the ministry, the conviction to remain in career ministry has become even stronger and clearer.
I have had matchless fulfillment and joy in these two years. Sitting with the students and sharing my life with them as they do theirs, listening to their stories, joys, and struggles, and offering guidance have been remarkable in my pilgrimage. The opportunities to share the gospel with the CUs cannot be left out as I count the joyous moments.
It is my prayer that the Lord will continue to mold the students to Christ-likeness and that their passion and love for Him will burn the more. I also pray for blessings to those who have served with me with their time, finances, and in prayer. May they not lack in anything. May the Lord bless the FOCUS fraternity and continue to cause growth in this ministry for the indispensable contribution she has continued to make to the body of Christ.
As my term as a STEM-Staff comes to an end, I pray that the Lord will provide the opportunity for me to continue to serve Him as a ministry worker.
