My name is Derick Odhiambo, STEM staff in Murang’a CUs.
I have become a more intentional student of the word of God, which has translated in a deep transformation of my heart. I have enjoyed the openness to the gospel that has been exhibited during my time in STEM by the students. I have learned to put all my energy toward serving them. This often ripples out into more outreaches by these students.
Some of the skills I can proudly say STEM has instilled in me include resource mobilization, management skills, interpersonal communication, and lobbying. I have confidence that the exposure I have gotten through STEM will be critical for my labor in the corporates. I can manage logistics, give sound judgment and mobilize people towards a common goal.
My team leader has ardently provided support and wisdom for my ministry. The Murang’a Associates branch members have become my close friends also. They have modeled by their intentionality, the value of students’ ministry. I’ve also admired and followed silently the life of the FOCUS staff because of their thoroughness and diligence in handling the scriptures. My ministry partners have also been a means of grace to me. I’m genuinely grateful for these people.
I pray to continue thriving in integrity when it comes to handling the word of truth. I desire to be right and true when it comes to teaching God’s word in the corporate environment. I trust God’s leading for days ahead of me.
