My name is John G. Mwati, a graduate of the University of Nairobi, where I undertook an Economics major from the Faculty of Arts. As a first-year in the University, I was thrilled by the freedom that came along with being a residential campus student. Thankfully, on my first day in the University at the admissions queue, I was approached by some students from the Christian Union orientation team who through their invitation, I went through the CU Orientation week. I later received salvation and got baptized in the Christian Union after going through discipleship and nurture classes.
I got opportunities to serve in the CU leadership in various capacities until I exited campus that saw me receive training and mentorship from FOCUS. I also attended the Ezra and Commission conferences and the National Leadership and mentorship Summit all of which made a contribution to my discipleship journey on campus.
Sensing the call to pursue Leadership & Global Governance, I was excited to be considered for an opportunity to join STEM. I hope to mentor and equip students for effective Christian living and be better stewards of what has been entrusted to us as believers. I also desire to grow in discipline and be a better student of the word of God as I serve.
My prayer for the students entrusted to me is that God will develop them to be responsible leaders and that God will raise an army of worshipers and ambassadors through every interaction that we shall have. I am also hopeful and trusting God for Kingdom financiers amongst my potential partners who will support and steer my ministry in FOCUS Kenya. I trust that through your support FOCUS will develop more capacity to reach more students and change the nations!
